Our Team

Michael Marsh, CPA

Michael Marsh is a CPA licensed in the states of TN, GA and AL. He has over 30 years of experience in public accounting, providing advisory services to the banking, insurance and investment fund industries. Michael has a BS in accounting and a BS in finance. He specializes in investment modeling and risk-based investment management for Marsh Wealth Management clients. He also provides tax and technical expertise to the financial planning process as part of our integrated team approach. He serves the community by volunteering with Boy Scouts, Second Harvest, and by serving on committees at his church and supporting the Knoxville Symphony. Michael is married to his partner in life and business, Yvonne Marsh, and has four children. In his spare time, he enjoys sailing, hiking and cooking.

Yvonne Marsh, CFP®, CPA

Yvonne Marsh graduated from the State University of New York with a BS in Accounting.  She is a Certified Financial Planner™ and a Certified Public Accountant. She also holds her Series 65 investment license, as well as life and health insurance licenses. As a CFP® and CPA, she specializes in personal financial planning, especially retirement and lifetime income planning, investment management, social security maximization, charitable giving, Medicare and long-term care planning. Additionally, she has small business entrepreneurial experience and public accounting experience providing assurance and advisory services to the banking and retirement fund industries. She is a monthly contributor to the business section of the Farragut Press. She enjoys speaking on financial education topics at locations such as Strang Senior Center and for local civic groups. She also served as past president of her homeowners’ Board, volunteers with her church and is a member of the Financial Planning Association. Married for over 20 years, she has two children and enjoys gardening, horseback riding, hiking and reading.

Tyler Haynes
Financial Analyst

Tyler Haynes is working toward completion of a BS in Accounting. He has 5 years of experience in the financial industry, working for a regional bank, where he specialized in providing insurance and investment services to many of his banking clients. He currently holds a Life Insurance license, as well as the Series 6 and 63 investment licenses with the State of Tennessee. With a passion for serving others, he enjoys building relationships and responding to the needs of each client. Tyler and his fiancé, Kasey, enjoy a lifestyle of working out, biking, running, and cooking healthy foods. They love to travel and explore the many small islands of the Caribbean.

Bethany Malicoat
Office Administrator

Bethany Malicoat is from Maryville and attended Walter State. With a passion for connecting and creating bonds with others, she loves her job because there is always a genuine spirit of positivity and shared goals all revolving around helping each client. Bethany and her fiancé, Matthew, just got their first puppy Buster, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Outside of work, when she’s not spending time with her family or at Target, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and managing her dog’s Instagram account.

Rick Austin
Medicare Specialist

Rick Austin holds a Life, Accident and Health producer license for the State of Tennessee. He has been in the insurance business for over thirty years, with over twenty years in senior management with a national insurance company. Rick specializes in helping people understand Medicare, including identifying solutions for each client’s specific needs for life, health, cancer, dental and vision plans. Being a native Tennessean, he spent a number of years in Florida and has enjoyed being back in Tennessee in Knoxville for the past seventeen years. He has been married to his wife Laura for over 30 years and is very proud of his daughter Sarah. They attend Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church and have been involved with a number of charities in Knoxville.

Michelle graduated from Austin Peay State University in May 2007 with degrees in Accounting and Finance and has 15 years of experience in public accounting. She specializes in providing accounting, tax, and consulting services to individuals and small businesses. After working in the accounting industry for over 10 years, Michelle founded Amelse & Edmonds CPAs to further her vision of helping individuals and businesses grow and flourish. Michelle’s areas of expertise include corporate and individual taxation, financial statement compilation, review and audits, IRS representation, full-service bookkeeping, entity formation, and business consulting. Her professional associations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, and QuickBooks ProAdvisor. In her free time Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband, Jon, and two sons.

Rebecca D. Abbott, Attorney at Law

Rebecca Abbott is a licensed attorney with over 30 years of experience. Licensed in both Tennessee and Texas, she has a solo law practice located in West Knoxville. Rebecca’s expertise is estate planning, including Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, and Prenuptial Agreements. She also assists families with probate and post-death planning issues. Originally from Tennessee, Rebecca practiced law in Dallas, Texas for ten years after she received her undergraduate degrees from Southern Methodist University and law degree from SMU School of Law. She is an active member of the Knoxville Bar Association, and often speaks about probate and estate planning at local senior centers and churches. Rebecca has two daughters, and in her free time, she enjoys cooking and reading.
